    Updated On: Oct 24, 2016

    Brothers, Sisters, Friends & Supporters,

It is my honor to inform you of The Retired Professional Fire Fighters Cancer Fund's latest Cancer Research donation. On Wednesday August 31, 2016 a formal check presentation took place at the Wilmot Cancer Institute (Part of the University of Rochester) - Rochester, N.Y. for their Pancreatic Cancer Research Program. The donation is $25,000. and is in memory of our Dear Frined, Dennis Sweeney. Dennis was a retired Elmira, N.Y. (I.A.F.F. LOCAL 709) Fire Fighter and served for many years as the Health & Safety Coordinator of the New York State Professional Fire Fighters Association. Dennis  was an outstanding advocate for Fire Fighters health & safety issues. Dennis lost his battle to pancreatic cancer on May 5, 2016. We can think of no better way to honor his memory than to support this outstanding Pancreatic Cancer Research Program. A VERY SPECIAL "THANK YOU" goes out to Dennis' Family, Friends, the Elmira Fire Fighters I.A.F.F. LOCAL 709, President Eddie Santiago and members of I.A.F.F. Local 1071 - Rochester, N.Y. and  and all of our VERY GENEROUS Supporters for making this happen. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.    STAY SAFE!
